Don’t charge more than N2,000 for post-UTME, FG warns tertiary institutions

The Federal Government on Tuesday warned that it would sanction any tertiary institution which charges more than N2,000 for Post-UTME. The Minister of Education, Alhaji Adamu Adamu, gave the warning at the ongoing Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Policy Meeting on Admissions into Tertiary Institutions in Gbongan, Osun. Adamu said : “At the 2017 policy meeting, I endorsed that any institution which was interested in conducting any form of Post-UTME screening could do so, but that the gross charge for the screening should not be more than N2,000. ” Once again, let me caution heads of tertiary institutions that it would not be tolerated for any institution to charge any fee beyond the approved two thousand naira (N2,000). ” Firmer sanctions than those of last session shall be applied to cases of violation,” the minister said. Unilag sets date for 2019 Post UTME screening

THE University of Lagos has fixed Aug. 1 to Aug. 21 for its Post Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (Post-UTME) screening into all courses/programmes for the 2019/2020 academic year. This is contained in a statement by the school Registrar, Mr. Oladejo Azeez, in Lagos, yesterday. The Registrar said only candidates who made the institution their first choice in the 2019 UTME and scored 200 and above are eligible for the screening upon payment of screening fee of N2, 000. “Candidates who will not be 16 years of age by Oct. 31 are not eligible and need not apply. “In the same vein, candidates who do not participate in the UTME screening will not be considered for placement” he said. Specifically, Azeez said that the post- UTME aptitude test would hold from Monday, Aug. 26 to Friday, Aug. 30.
